Not sure if this is the right place to post but hey ...

I was looking around the web trying to find whys to increase my traffic when i thought of appying for awards ...

I submitted my site to one of these award sites but then it occured to me ... do they really look at the sites? Anybody know of anyone who does/doesnt look at them ...? Or to you think it just looks tacky having imgs for awards?

personally, I think it's tacky...and I don't go to sites simply becasue they have awards, so I'm not even sure if applying for these will increase your traffice at all. There are so many "awards" out there, and there arn't any that I've seen that really carry any respectability along with them (I could be wrong)...any one can make an award and give it out, it doesn't mean anything special other than a tacky image to place on your site somewhere.

I sometimes go to the sites just to see how they are built and what makes them award winning.

To get more visitors,I found this out.

On my site, in January,I posted a Flash animation of a women exposing her boobs (http://www.joeytomatoes.com/boobs.htm) with a mouse over.

That month I had 14,000 hits

I took it off in feburary and the hits dropped off.Now I get about 4 to 6 k per month.

Now does sex sell ??

Now I could be wrong on this,
I think content has a lot to do with the visitors.I also think that construction is important,

how easy is it to read
how easy is the menu
how are the colors
what kind of font
target audience
there are a few more

oooo, I just had an innovative idea...a web award that's a flash animation of a woman exposing herself...it's BRILLIANT!! We'll call it the cer*tit*icate of wonderful webmastery award.

But seriously,I think they have some porno award and adult awards.

I was watching techtv the other night,the show was Wired for Sex,and they mention why Sony Beta tape failed and VHS won out.It was becaused Sony wouldn't license their tape to the porn industry.So they [the porn] went to vhs,and now dvd.

Also, they showed exposed breast and other body parts without the little black bars :eek:.TV has come a long way over here in the USA.
