I (stupidly) thought this topic was about real spam - the kind that drives you nuts in your email from time to time..well, now I see you mean we can "spam" our sites! So, that's what I'm going to do!

Also, if anyone has any websites for men that would liked to be placed on a men's links page I'm creating, let me know here or email me at jeni@justjeni.com.

This category is for your favorite Spam recipes. Personally, I prefer SPAMŪ & Gravy on Biscuits.
SPAMŪ & Gravy on Biscuits
1 (17.3-ounce) can refrigerated large buttermilk biscuits
1 (12-ounce) can SPAMŪ luncheon meat, cubed
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups milk
(
Prepare biscuits according to package directions. In large skillet, sauté SPAMŪ and onion in butter until SPAMŪ is lightly browned. Stir in flour and pepper. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in milk. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture just comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium. Cook, stirring occasionally, until gravy is thickened. Serve over hot biscuits. Serves 8.

What else is new, huh. What is Myrmidon (Level 12)? If I may ask..
Dave Swift
02-17-2001, 07:35 AM
A Myrmidon (Level 12)is basically what you are called when you have made 151-200 posts. After a Myrmidon you go to a Champion then Superhero and so on. But you're usually made a Guru (moderator) before you reach a Paladin or Lord.
PS: If you have no idea of what I'm talking about, go to http://www.htmlforums.com/legend.html
Depends, if you post 400 posts of rubbish like this, there is no way you'll become a moderator :D

I couldn't help myself - I like things organized and that belongs in this thread - the true SPAM thread! :-)
But I hate to say it, that one doesn't sound too good to me...nothing personal, Jason!
Say Ian, you remember that page I had so much trouble with? Well, I still don't quite understand where I botched it but I haven't had a chance to study it too much yet, either, although tonight I was working on my site ALL night and it was bothering me that the comment on that chart was so far under the chart, so I gave it a go to get the writing into the chart and guess what!? I was thrilled! When I started to try it I remembered what you said - don't tear my hair out for six hours again so I was ready to pop back in here but I did it. That felt soooo good! :D

Wow...when I saw that spam.com come up as a link I clicked on it and sure enough, I get the "official spam home page" - say, did you guys get your recipes from there?;)
Say, check this out - they have SPAM Oven Roasted Turkey!
Here's a recipe that's healthier for you guys who are eating all that naughty stuff:
Turkey on a Bagel
4 raisin bagels
4 tablespoons reduced fat peanut butter
2 teaspoons honey dijon mustard
1 (12-ounce) can SPAM Oven Roasted Turkey, thinly sliced
1 small apple, thinly sliced
4 ounces reduced fat mild cheddar cheese
Spread half of each bagel with 1/4 of peanut butter and mustard. Place 1/4 of SPAM onto each of 4 bagel halves. Top with apples and cheese. Place remaining bagel havles on top. Slice and serve. Serves 4.
Now I feel better- I contributed a recipe to this post. Although I don't think it's going to be too popular. To be honest, I don't think I'd wish to try it.

OK, I've been very good and have been quiet for 2 pages now, but I think I have found the all time most disgusting sounding recipe ever:
Yam Croquettes with Pineapple Sauce
1 (16-ounce) can cut yams
1 (7-ounce) SPAMŪ luncheon meat, finely chopped
1 egg yolk
Pepper to taste
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 egg, slightly beaten
Shortening
Pineapple Sauce (below)
Drain yams and mash. Combine with SPAMŪ, egg yolk, and pepper. Shape mixture into 6 balls. Roll in bread crumbs; dip in beaten egg. Roll in bread crumbs again. Refrigerate at least 1 hour for easy frying. Heat 3 inches shortening to 350°F; slip in croquettes. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, until browned. Drain on paper towels. Serve with Pineapple Sauce.
Pineapple Sauce
1/4 cup water 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch 2 whole cloves
1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple in syrup
In small saucepan, stir together water and cornstarch until smooth. Add pineapple, sugar, and cloves. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens and boils. Simmer 2 minutes; remove cloves before serving.
Not a snowballs chance of this making 6 pages :D

Honestly, I just thought of this after I hit reply and I've been wanting to post it but promised I wouldn't come in here unless totally forced to do so out of the need to see the latest post...
You guys actually helped me a little with this Spam joking around - there are some low fat recipes on the site where they use some turkey spam product now and there are some of my clients that will love that! Personally, I wouldn't eat that either, but hey, if it helps someone else..
So, the diet world owes you a Thank YOU!! :)

I can do no wrong. Even in jest I accomplish more than most people do on purpose. Let me ask you something. Who posted the very first SPAM recipe? Was it you? Was it? Eh? Nope. I did. I posted it. That's right, me.

SPAM rots your brain!
Jason

Actually I think SPAM is more likely to rot your gullet... Hey Jeni, I can use that health advice of yours now... do you have any clue what a gullet is, and what one can do to keep it from rotting (besides abstaining from SPAM)?

". Who posted the very first SPAM recipe? Was it you? Was it? Eh? Nope. I did. I posted it. That's right, me."
Yuppers, it was you, Jason! You do deserve ALL the credit here...if I knew how to, I'd draw you a little reward, you put up a good one, too! :D
As for the gullet, that's the esophagus, the throat, or pharynx, as those who like to use words no one can understand, would call it.
That spam will "getcha" coming and going....leaving nothing but sticky icky cholesterol clogging your arteries after it's destroyed your stomach and your GULLET...:D
Jason
02-26-2001, 10:58 AM
Throat eh? Well than my gullet is quite sore from this darn flu, I can't stop coughing, luckily though I haven't coughed anything up yet, thank god for small favors eh?

You poor sick thing - I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe I should send you my newsletter where I told people how to try to avoid these things, but of course, you're beyind hope anyway because you're sick now...:D.
Drink your fluids, get your rest, check your temp, stay warm and dry, have your wife or girlfriend spoil you rotton and you'll be your old self in no time - and please, if you do cough anything up, don't draw a graphic of it like you did the puking guy....

"Few foods are as versatile as SPAM Luncheon Meat.
There seems to be no end to the creative and tasty ways you can enjoy SPAM."
Oh, that's funny! Someone had mentioned a spam.com and I punched that in and sure enough, up came a spam website! That's where I found some turkey crap they make that - I guess - tastes like Spam...but this one, I see I could submit a recipe - should give it a try, huh! :)

Did you see the spam party page, Dr.Web? I had to laugh because Jason and them were joking about a spam party and blast it if they don't have a page on a spam party! Here's what they say:
Party time.
How nice. You've invited SPAM Luncheon Meat to your party.
What's that? It's a SPAM Party.
Well then, you'll want a SPAM Party Pack. It's got everything you need to give your party a distinctive SPAM flavor.
Everything, that is, except SPAM, which of course can easily be found at your grocery store.
The SPAM Party Pack serves 12. Cost: $39, plus a shipping and handling charge of $7.
Pack includes:
SPAM invitations.
SPAM paper tablecloth.
SPAM paper napkins.
SPAM plastic ware.
SPAM paper plates.
SPAM balloons.
SPAM plastic serving tray.
SPAM plastic stadium cups.
SPAM pennant.
SPAM recipe book.
And, just for you, a SPAM apron.
> How to order your Party Pack
And they show a kid with a SPAM T-shirt, too! Now Jason can throw his Spam party - and hey, it's cheap, too! :)

It's the most viewed post, but is it the longest post in HTMLForums?
It has 88 replies, and if it gets a few more it'll make seven pages!

does anyone honestly like spam? how can anyone eat an unclassified meat, or byproduct of? then again, who am i to say, america has kept it going for decades... here is another recpie:
BB-Q Spam
Over night soak 3 cans of vertically sliced spam filets in 2 cups worshiers sauce
3tbs garlic powder
and lightly glaze with honey.
cover your grill with aluminum foil or the spam will break up. lightly glaze with your favorite bbq sauce on the lowest heat setting avaliable untill firm. (i personally recommend using 1 shot from a spray bottle of white cooking wine durring every glaze)
thanks

The longest and useless spam box post - I just don't see anything fruitful and to gain some knowledge, except ..... just to post something.
Specially Justjeni 36 post out of to 75 good score - I think you don't have to do anything else other than sitting in front of computer all day/night and vasting resources.
And you Jason the Great Moderator of HTML Forum 27 replies out of 75 why don't you use an e-mail or yahoo messanger, icq or any other program kill your posting thrust or to chat.
All together 63 posts are from you two guys out of 75 or 76. What a waste of resources and time.

Can you get anything out of those useless spam recipes. Nothing at all, total waste of time. My dear time is money use it wisely - don't just waste it for nothing or spamming.
And for you Justjeni, for GOD sack stop posting. Do something useful - to learn, something constructive.

"And for you Justjeni, for GOD sack stop posting. Do something useful - to learn, something constructive."
This is a pretty nasty thing to say to me. I wrack my brains out 12 hours a day trying to learn - if I took 5 minutes here and there to have a little "fun", I really don't think that deserves you slamming me like this. Look around other posts - I have been asking a lot of questions and trying to answer those I can - all stuff that is more than serious to me.
If you don't want me on this board, just come out and say so, kindly refrain from insulting my intelligence yet again.

I believe that EformSoultions needs to learn the subtleties of Western humor. While many of the continuous posters in this thread have made fun of it ourselves, we have kept it in good fun. Eforms, this is not the first thread in which you have taken information out of context. In addition to a great source of help, and a meeting place for ideas and brainstorms, HTMLforums is also a place for the webmaster community to come together to relax, or just to have a good time. This thread is an example of just such an event.
While all patrons to these forums are free to express their opinions openly, those that begin to get nasty will be banished.
Please try to keep the conversation civil eforms, serious flaming is not welcome at these forums. Especially negative remarks made towards our Jeni :D

Hi Jeni!
Don't take my remarks in a negative directions. I agree, you have to come to this thread to relex, clear your frustrations and have fun. You spend 12 hours sitting in front of computer, at least you need 6 to 8 hours to sleep and what left for you to study you normal class 4 to 6 six hours a day and thats it. (I strongly suggest don't take my remarks in negative directions)
I whole heartedly appologize for any confusion my remarks from my last post made on you and or anybody else. Here, I must say, you ask questions, useful questions for youself and for other visitors to this forum, but some of your post. . . . . I don't want say anything further. Jason is already threatening me to band. . . . . .

Hi Jason!
So you think, the language I used is not civilized, or I can not understand western humor. For your kind information, my dear Jason, I am working for a really big organisation (over 75,000 employees) with lots of europeans and westerns (most of them highly educated) are working with me since last eleven(11) years, and I know all about western humor and the nasty joke and there civilized language they normally use everyday. I work with them from 6am to 6pm, spending 12 hours of my day with those civilized westerners.
Now, I have to learn manners to do my normal daily routine work, including visiting website and posting on some forums.
As you mentioned "serious flaming" what do mean by this, can you please explain it a little bit, or it is another of your western joke.
"Especially negative remarks made towards our Jeni" Can you explain about this also where they are.
Jason my dear you are too young to think something constructive for a youngester like Jeni who is spending most of his time sitting in front of his computer, thats why you couldn't get the true meaning of my remarks about dear Jeni.

I'm an old bag of 41. Now my secret is out, not only am I a novice in HTML, I'm an old one to boot.
Jason, thank you very, very much for coming to my rescue. I admit I was a bit stung. I like to think I have thick skin, but I really enjoy coming in here and you gave me a few much needed laughs along with some very valueable help to a poor, old, inept gal.
eforms - to me you came off very rude, but although it stung, I'm not one to hold a grudge, either. All is forgiven. Tomorrow is a new day... Now, my brain is barely functioning any longer, it's 2:30 in the morning here and I"ll go crash and forget all of this.
Thanks again to my hero's! :)
