this is a good question, especially since the participation level of the contest was so low. Let me query the mods on this one.

I know it was a bit low. I don't think we should lose faith though. It just takes time. The last comp was a pretty hard time of year, everyone I guess had lots on and was busy. You can see this from the forum at the moment. I might be wrong but there was a little lull in the activity in general.

Can we have another thread suggesting comp themes.

We should get a few people to donate some prizes to help the level of participation. I unfortunaly did not have time to enter the last one but I will on the next one. I will donate around $25 on the next design to try to get more people interested.

I was quite busy lately so hence i didn't participate in the last contests. I think i'd join the next, regardless of prices etc.

the contests have not been focused on graphic layout.

the layouts have been for the most part all the same square box styles.

Nothing new or ground breaking in layout design really evolved from them.

Maybe if you did the same contest over, readvertise it, same criteria, same everything, then keep the submissions you already have, and give people another opportunity to submit. just an idea

I wud like to spice the contest a bit by adding a new prize. How does 30MB free web hosting for one year sound to u guys? I mean as long as the winner gets to win his own domain name , might as well give him free web hosting for his website, which I can take care of. :)

Even if there were no prizes, would still be great to have one. Or a mini contest.
