NEVER USED GRAFF PROG ,SO I WANTED TO KNOW IF THERE IS A PROGRAM FOR CREATING AND EDITING THAT EVEN I ,AS A NOVICE COULD USE....AM JUST FIGURING OUT CLARIS HOMEPAGE SO IT REALLY HAS TO BE USER FREINDLY AND CRETIN PROOF,ALL I REALLY WANT IS TO MAKE INTERFACES.

ANY IDEAS WELCOMED.A PROG THATS 15 MINUTES TO A BASIC END RESULT WOULD BE NICE :)

Not quite sure what you mean by interfaces..... what do you mean?

jorvine: An interface usually refers to a graphical navigation unit.

Maxclan: Unfortunately there is no one easy way to create an interface. An interface can come in many shapes and sizes. The only way to make one is from good old elbow grease. Paint Shop Pro is a pretty powerful, and frieldny program. I'd suggest downloading the trial from http://www.freewarefiles.com . Try making various shapes, and seeing what the "inner bevel" effect does to them, this is the effect that usually gives interfaces that 3D rounded off look. Also browse through the interface category at http://www.freewebtemplates.com . Try to duplicate some of the shapes that Doni used in his interface designs. It might be difficult at first, but you will improve with time.

so, it's a set navigation buttons?

In that case:

1) Macromedia fireworks can produce these and is easier to use than PSP. Plus it creates all the HTML for you.

2) Have a look at zara 3d (I think it's called that). Search for it at download.com. This allows you to make custom buttons but doesn't create any html for you.

It's a little more complex than buttons, check out:

thanx jonirv, had a day to look into it and as i peel away one layer another arises....?..... i think that could be a raster joke...lol

anyway again thanx for help,i was just hoping there was a proggy out there that threw them out like cool3d does with anim gifs....really easy to get to grips with,

jason is right too,psp is missing whatever it take to make an interface, but i hear photoshop does so i am getting it tomorrow.....it seems such a neater and nicer way to cruise a site,so why are there n qucik and easy progs out there?

i have downloaded a few interface sets but havent a clue what to do with them,as soon as i see the mere mention of html i **** a brick and give up,,,lol :)

I clicked this link from the free web templates site:
http://www.guistuff.com/
These are also interfaces, right?

Most of sets there are more complete than interfaces, and called templates. However I'm sure quite a few of the templates do have an "interface" component to them.

Maxclan,

I really think fireworks and dreamweaver can do what you want. What sort of time frame do you have on your project?

If you can wait until around the 10 Feb I can do a couple of online tutorials for you to show you how easy it is to create the navigation bar with fireworks? (Unfortunately I'm a little tied down with work at the moment)

thanx jonirv, will await that, gonna practise a bit on photoshop, just found the image map edit feature on psp too, this is almost what i need but only does circles and squares,so i can now link all other pages of website to the index jpg that i image mapped, but still got a long way to go i fear......or have i started too late in life...lol :)

Sorry mate, I said the 10th Feb and I've still not got round to it. Been real busy lately. (In final year of Uni) Will get round to it eventually though..

Keep an eye out on 101tutorials.com and http://new.101tutorials.com
