Easy question...
Dream Theater and Pain of Salvation! And mostly everything else in the Progressive Rock section! :banger:
No 60's, no 70's, no 80's, no rock, no boy bands, no popstar wannabees.
Anything: house, trance, ambient, techno.
Giz!

Well, I really like anything from the '60s to the early '90s. Not really much else, except for very, very heavy metal. Sadomasochism is currently my favorite mp3.com artist. My favorite band is Disturbed, along with many side bands.

Rap is decent when you actually want to hear beats. Words to rap mean crap, doesn't take a genious to write them. Or a 2nd grader...

Well, if you haven't (and I'm sure some of you haven't  ) figured it out already, I'm a Christian, and my favorite music is affected by this. I do, nonetheless, listen to rap, punk, hardcore, etc. Of course, it's just written with Christian lyrics. And, GTMitch, this variety does take some intelligence, even if you decide to disagree. Takes a lot more than mainstream rap, at least, as their lyrics have to actually mean something .
Of course, I can handle various "oldies," though I'm still wondering why the Beach Boys are part of this group =/.
But, if you really care, I like people/bands you've never heard of (KJ-52, John Reuben, Relient K, 38th Parallel, Pillar, etc.). And, also some you MAY have heard of, such as P.O.D (Payable on Death).

never liked country music much myself (except when i was a wee one and thought Porter Wagner was some kind of rocker or something), but ya gotta admit, some-a them old guys were/are pretty cool, e.g., Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Senior, etc.

Heh, I'm not a country fan either, although some of it isn't so bad, like Faith Hill.
And a second grader can write a rap song? Have you actually listened to rap lyrics? I'm not talking about the mainstream stuff that's nothing more than "*****, ho, f**k" repeated over and over... some rap lyrics are actually very creative and clever if you care to listen with an unbiased attitute.
Every music genre has its share of gems and crap.

Every music genre has its share of gems and crap. exactly. there's actually an awful lot of really great hip-hop out there. groups like The Roots, Jurassic 5, and even a lot of older stuff like Run-DMC and Public Enemy have always had great lyrics!
ok boys and girls... Lets move this conversation toward web design. I hope you don't mind if I adjust the question a little.
What I want to know is which is your favourit music website? Musisians usually have the coooooolest flash sites so which one do you like.

I love rock and indie music most but almost anything from Mozart to Wu Tang Clan is cool by me.
Notable exceptions being techno, most boy bands, and most country..."We play both kindsa music...Country AND Western!" :D
I can`t agree bout rap lyrics being rubbish. I love Wu Tang`s `I Can`t Go To Sleep`. It`s got the lot! Great lyrics, full orchestra, a funky bass line and Isaac Hayes deep brown velvet voice crooning through mmmm
Fave music sites are;
http://www.nme.com
Britain`s main music weekly paper and great for getting the first viewing and listening of bands new material.
http://www.elbowrooms.co.uk
Well worth a visit just to hear `Powder Blue`(sheer bliss), and `Bitten by the Tailfly`.
