Hi Chris,
If you are new to ASP I would recommend giving Macromedia UltraDev a try.
What format is the employee directory in?
Using UltraDev you can set up a search page using ASP and a ODBC database connection (for access database) in about 10 minutes.
Let me know if you want anymore info,
Jon

Cheers
Is that the Dreamweaver Ultradev that you are talking about ??? I am currently using Front Page 2000 to maintain my web pages but i want to keep the databases in access if possible
Thanks

Forgot to mention.
It's got a great help section which explains how to do everything you will need. I've only been learning for a week and have successfully created a product database and site plus and example of a search facility for a prospective client. (http://www.101tutorials.com/canoeroutes/routefinder.html)
If you have any questions about it email me.
