I am considering getting this software, but I was wondering before hand if anyone has tried it, and what they think? It was reccomended to me by a friend, but they had never tried it themself, only heard things from other people, and you know how mis-leading those shady "other people" can sometimes be.

Its a pretty good editor....If your using adobe products then you will like it becasue the interface is quite similar to other adobe products and works well with other Adobe products.

Most poeple who dont like Adobe GoLive becasue of its interface so its better to download a trial version from the adobe website before buying it.
