After leaving the automotive industry, I'm finally serious about web design. Odd career change, huh? :P
My site's been online for about 2 weeks, but I finally got it looking the way I want it. The URL is http://www.jeffraymond.vze.com.
I put a splash page because I didn't want to put the ShortURL button on the main page; I'll probably get rid of it when I get my own domain. If you want to skip the splash page, the URL is http://www33.brinkster.com/raym0nd1555/index2.html.
I'd appreaciate any feedback. :)
[edit] now the second URL skips the splash page :o
I still get the splash page on the second link
And yourintro keeps freezingup my browser here, though I think my browser is a litttle bit messed up rightnow

i like it, it looks fine to me, and it validates! congratulation! there is just one thing though... that irritated me. you shall not recommend what your site is best viewed with at all, you shall write valid code, and not mention what it works with. you can mention in witch browsers it was tested, but not witch to use. the whole with html it is suppose to work if the code is valid and the browser is new. no need to write that.
other then that, it looks great.

Sorry about that, JGAC. :o
The splash page is a ~40KB .swf file and a timer redirection script. I'll have to see what's wrong with it.
I fixed the URL in my post too.
Thanks for the suggestion, mimle. Since it validates, I'll get rid of the browser requirements.
Very good website. I cant find any complaints to post about it.

Artic,
It looks nice and it validates. That rocks.
One thing I would do is add some padding on the sides so the text isn't right up alongside the edge.
Good job.

Ok, I added 5 pixels of padding; it made quite a difference. Thanks for the tip. :)
I fixed the splash page too. It now validates (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www33.brinkster.com/raym0nd1555/index.html;ss=1;verbose=1) as XHTML 1.1.
I'd like to change the rest of my site to XHTML 1.1 and get rid of the tables. Looks like it'll be my next project. :D

Okay, you know me, I'm picky...so Here I go:
I need color - I can tell you're going for the whole grayscale scheme, but if you'd use some color you could really help some things grab the user's attention.
To be completely truthly, I'm not a big fan of # anchor links that just take you to a spot lower on the page. I believe that with all the advances in html/php now-a-days, there's no reason for a web page to be that long that it requires links to take you to certain parts of the page. I'd suggest just having like an iframe as a viewing window and just pass it different pages to load based on which link they click.
Think it'd be really sweet if you created a custom border for the content screen that would match the rest of the page rather than the 5px (or whatever, didn't check the source to see) outset dark grey border you're using.
Okay, I've said my peace.
Great job on the validating.
8.5/10 (needs some "WOW Features")
Good job validating the flash code.
I can now correctly see it

I like your suggestions, putts.
Time to fire up Paint Shop. :D
I'll see how I can add colour without making the site look tacky.

Well, I added a little bit of colour; it's all I have time to do this weekend.
Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions. Now I see why they say "a good site is never finished." I thought mine was complete. :P

Thanks Mike. :)
I just got rid of the tables on the main page; I'll eventually do the same for the other pages. It still validates after the changes, too. :D

The whole site is now table-free... I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place. :P
The subpages all share the same style sheet too now. I'm learnin'... :D
