We just went live last week with this one, at the request of my boss, the owner. Used a free web template and then had help adapting it. Your comments are appreciated.

Also looking to generate a privacy policy. I know of free services to do that, but can't find one. Thoughts?

Michaelk,

For a "cookie cutter" (template) website it is nicely done. The graphics at the top could use some work (looks like they were resized too small or used the wrong resampling method to resize them causing some jaggies and distortion) but they're not too bad.

Navigation and usability are both good.

That web site is begging for a mascot, a little person in a pizza maker outfit or something like that. Maybe just a little more color in the text or backgrounds to give it a more festive or more lively appearance. I always think of shades of red and green assosciated with Italian cuisine (like in the graphics) but you could use any color combo that is classy looking.

I would remove the counter and the weather graphic. I really hate both of those things. People in the area are going to know what the weather is and the time is displayed on most all computers.

A form for contacting the resturant with fill in boxes would compliment the web site, such as persons seeking catering info.

Another comment.....and this happens a lot...it seems the website was created just because being on the internet is the thing to do. If the web site is to be more than just a presence on the web, institute a plan. Post coupons on the website to attract visitors, or have a monthly drawing for a free lunch or dinner. A "come in and meet us" section would be nice. Some pictures of the inside of the resturant/kitchen (post the city/county rating if they have that in Ohio) pictures of the food, sorta like the press/awards section except expanded upon a little more.

If the owners are brave they could ask for reviews of the resturant and post them on the website. If possible, incorporate the web site into any traditional advertising the resturant is currently using.

Keep the privacy policy SIMPLE. Don't couch it in legaleez. Just state the facts, whatever they are.

I guess the next step would be to take orders online........:^)

Overall, its a very good start. Best to start on the conservative side and build from there (IMHO).

Regards,
kevin

just some things:

-why 2 logos on each side? - make one and make it look better
-why adresses 2 times?
-why menu in pdf format? could be a simple html file
-counter and weather doesnt look 2 serious, i would remove that
-photo on about us page is kinda weird for a costumer, i would love to see a big pizza there
-thats just mine humble opinion ;)

Here's your competition:

Yours look real bad in comparison. Very dated and amateur. Your boss can't have much business sense if he approved it. Then again if you don't put your hand in your pocket then what can you expect.

Read what kevin wrote and go from there.

EDIT: Just read this "Totally revamped website COMING SOON!"

Am I looking at the old site? Must be.
