Hello,
I'm working on a website for a role-playing group and would like some opinions on how it looks. The site will eventually have its own domain name, but for the moment part of the site, including the homepage, is on Delphi. The part I would like to get opinions on is under the "Clan Phoenix Information Center" link, although I'll willing take any comments and suggestions I can get.
I know the homepage and most of the site probably look pretty amateurish, but I'm teaching myself HTML and javascript as I go, so I'm basically taking baby steps. I'm hoping to get a good looking and working site going, so that when we get the domain name it can just be transferred over.
Thank you in advance to anyone who reviews the site for me! I most definitely appreciate it!
BTW, I was going to comment on someone else's site before I requested a review of mine, but all the sites posted had already been reviewed.
Thanks again,

Sorry..... I forgot to include the url...
here it is
http://www0.delphi.com/clan_phoenix
I can't do much with the homepage as it is on Delphi because I have to use their editor... unless someone can tell me how to get their setup to redirect to the page I choose automatically.
Thanks again!

Jennifer,
You can always add your opinion about a website even if it has already been reviewed.
The graphic on the home page is nice, but contrasts too much with the black background. Maybe a fancy border/frame around the image or oval shape instead of square would help it a little.
The section you want opinions about also looks good. The link buttons on the left frame are very nice, and the mouseover effect is too. I don't like the three frame layout myself. I would remove the top right frame and have the left frame and one intro frame on the right. I would also make all the links open in the right frame instead of some opening new windows and some opening new frames. I like the colors and the layout on the pages.
The navigation could be better, some pages have no links at all forcing you to back out of the page to get to a new page. There is no link back to the home page that I could find.
The application allows a person to send blank fields, that could be setup better.
The graphics are good and not over done. Your website is fairly well focused. You know what you want the website to be about and aren't getting side tracked with irrelevant junk. I don't know anything about the subject matter of your website but the content seems pertinent.
Overall I rate it as very good. For a beginner it is a great website. I hope you continue to learn and improve the website.

hello,
the homepage is quite simple, not bad. but the alignment of the title, the image and the introduction seems quite strange to me.
i agree with q-nought , the background color of the phoenix image on your homepage is too contrasting. Perhaps you can use a graphic editor like photoshop or paint shop pro to fill the white background black. And if u want the phoenix to contrast against black, perhaps u can add some glow effect around the phoenix.
for the information center, as q-nought said, it will be better to have only 1 frame on the right as having 2 frames there is quite useless, and doesn't add to the design of the site.
try to keep the way of how each link open consistent and remember to add a link back to the information center.
perhaps u can consider putting the orientation kit page as a link from the homepage instead of the information center as the page is quite large by itself. And the link back to the information center in the right frame of the orientation kit page should be removed.
On the whole, the site is not bad, but the navigation is rather messy and should be improved. quite good for a first attempt. =)

Jennifer,
If you can edit or add meta tags (and it looks like you can) use this code for autoredirect:
<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="5; URL=http://home.earthlink.net/~shandre/CorpHome/ClanFrame.html">
you can change 5 to the amount of seconds you want to pass before autoredirection occurs and change the URL in my example if that is not the correct URL.
Regards,
Kevin
