How do I make an animated GIF work on a flash file? All I get is a static image after I view my movie.

I guess this is how u did it but anyway try it again

File > Import > Choose your gif file.............and then play and see it will work.

To check if the file has imported see the timeline u will have a keyframe for each from of the Gif animation.

yeh, do that then create a movie clip and put the gif frames in it so you can have a constantly playing gif. i used this method to create a fire barrel when i was making a little flash stick man war :D

Well this only works half way for me. How am I supposed to have tween animation when there is a keyframe over every frame?

**In my instance, I'm having a waving flag(the gif) moving across the screen. How do I do this?

Make another layer and use that to tween any other animations that you make.

Thanks for the advice, but you forgot you were talking to an idiot like me. Now I got 2 flags, one waving in place and a still one moving across the screen. Sorry, but how does this work again?

I know the answer.......na na na na na...lol

Ready....

file, open as library.. Then open your gif animation.. you will get a small library window appear with each fram as a single pic....... Using the insert keyframe function just insert the frames one by one... copy cutting and pasting for longer effect...

Peace
