Hello,
I am trying my hand a working with Perl. I have tried to configure this sight with perlshop, but I have made some mistake and it is not working. The script is suppose to help you enter the "design shop". But when you click the button the page it returns says I do not have permission. If you would like to see what I mean the site is www.grizzlygraffix.com (http://www.grizzlygraffix.com)
I am really stumped. I am going to keep trying but I was really hoping that someone might have an idea about what I am doing wrong.
Thanks,
Christie

Pooda,
It sounds like you need to chmod your files, what are your permissions currently set to on your perl files?

Well I did the "chmod 700 perlshop.cgi"
and I also did the "chmod 777" to all the subdirectories
did I miss something?

All *.cgi/*.pl files should be chmod'd 755

How frequently do you have to set the chmod? everytime you update? or only the first time it is uploaded?

You may have to chmod your files again every time you upload them.

If you don't delete->upload it or chmod it you should not have to chmod it again. It depends a little on your FTP-client, but most of them handles those things the right way.

I know. I was really hoping to get help on this one. I am reading as fast as a can to figure this out, but my friend is not too happy with me for taking this long to figure out the problem. I hope someone will take pity on me. Thanks for saying what I was thinking
