New Line character problems.

Ok I am having trouble.

I write most of my scripts in notepad. I keep having problems running because the carriage return character. I know how to chomp them off but can't write a script to do it because I can't get any script to work.

I need help. Are there any editors that can help or maybe a chomp program that I can run etc?

I tried VI but I guess i just don't think that way cause it takes me SOOOO LONG to edit on VI.

Can anyone help?

I use a very powerful, inexpensive text editor called UltraEdit (www.ultraedit.com). It can convert to/from Unix/Mac/DOS style newlines.
