There may be other solutions, but you could put the images you want downloaded in a zip file. It's very easy to do. You could bundle lots of images together that way and they can all be downloaded at once or zip them in seperate files.
If you don't already have winzip you can get it here... http://www.winzip.com/

An alternative way would be to have you images in jpg/gif on the site, but clicked on they are hyperlinked to the same pictures but in different formats (Ie formats that can't open in IE or Netscape)
bmp? png? (I think, test it)

jonirvine,
That is an interesting suggestion and would certainly cause a file to download. It might have to be a different file format though, AOL and IE will display BMP images, and Netscape will display PNG (I'm not sure what other browsers support, like Opera). Newer IE browsers may also display PNG images. I am using IE5.0 and it does not seem to display PNG graphics. TIF format will display in most any image program but the file sizes can be very large, as can many other proprietary formats, like PSP or PSD files.

I had a feeling I remember bmp showing before. Didn't know png's would though. Learn something new everyday!
