resizable backgrounds

Can someone help, I am making a website and I have a border that covers the top bottom and sides. Is there a way to have it automatically resize to fit different screen sizes. Also what is the best way to run a video on the net? AVI? MPEG? http://www.fastcatracing.com

Hi there,
probably the easiest way is to make your site inside tables using % instead of a fixed value, this way they will always be 80% or the widow for example no matter what screen resolution your visitors have.
not sure about the "best" way to run a video from your site, but maybe the most commonly used is streaming it, either using realvideo or microsoft media player are common browser plug-ins, apple's QuickTime could be another to check out.

I understand the concept of tables, but if I am using a scanned page that has a border on all four sides, how do I get it in the table, without messing up test and graphics within. Can you give me an example? www.fastcatracing.com (http://www.fastcatracing.com)

Hi, due to the nature of your background, making this resizable even in tables would create a tiled effect which would look pretty bad, similar to the tiled effect you are getting now, what I suggest is that you create it inside FIXED tables, this would look so much more presentable however there are 2 things to note, 1) viewers in 640x480 will get a scroll bar at the bottom. 2)viewers in resolutions bigger than 800x600 will get a blank border around the table.
In my view, this still looks 100% better and is more presentable.
