So I used Windows 98 Sound Recorder to record a song off a CD. It was in .wav format, but when I played it, the quality was just horrible --- you can barely hear it, and it's extremely staticky.
While I was recording, the volume on the computer was turned all the way up. There's no problem with the CD itself, as far as I know.
What exactly caused this? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
(My ultimate goal is to make a Real Audio file of a song.)
