A security flaw in Microsoft's flagship word processing software could allow a document to hijack files from any Windows PC on which it's opened.

The scheme works best under Word 97, but Word 2000 and 2002 could also be conscripted into service if the attacker can persuade a victim to print the document first

We should make a separate section in the security alert forum for Microsft product holes :D

This was way back on Sept 13, any sign of a patch from MS?

I haven't seen one as of yet.

Since M$ don't support anything over about three years old, or so, then they will probably never patch these. They'll just use it as yet another excuse to force you to upgrade to XP.

Hmm, Windows XP, where X == CRA.
