Welcome to the website layout competition! This will be an ongoing competition with a different 'theme' each time it runs. All you need to do is create a website layout to enter.
Each contest will have a fictitious customer, who is requesting either a new site, or an upgrade to their existing site. They will post their site requirments, and your mission (if you choose to accept it) will be to create a website that blows them away!!
Of course, every contest needs a few rules...
Website layout competition: Rules And Regulations.
Submissions must meet the following criteria in addition to adhering to the stated theme.
1. Entries must be no larger than 800x600, in jpg/ gif format. Screenshots are fine, as long as the work/ website is your own. Submitting work that is not your own, or in any way using elements that are not created by yourself in entirety may result in elimination from the contest.
2. In addition to posting your original graphical work, you agree that other members may use this graphic file to further their understanding. You may be asked to provide specific instructions on any of the effects that you have included in your layout. You may be asked to post your original graphic file. Failing to provide these instructions/ original graphic file upon request may void your entry into the contest. This will help other members to learn how you achieved the effects that you have, and will help them to achieve the effect in their own chosen graphical editor.
3. You may submit multiple entries, but each entry must be different from all previous submissions. Specifically: do not submit the same layout with a different color scheme, or with upgraded icons/ nav bars. Do not submit your layouts in versions. Your submission should be a polished layout, that is not similar to any of the previous entries.
5. Your entry should be unique. Meaning: if you take a graphic file/ layout that another member has submitted, modify it, and submit it as your own work-it will be removed from the contest. If you see that an already submitted entry is similar to your own (unsubmitted work), you will need to demonstrate enough uniquness to qualify your entry as original.
6. When you submit an entry into the contest you agree that the work is freely given to the forums and its members. You agree not to later claim that the idea was in some way taken from you against your will. Your submission into the contest is intended to help forum members advance their own skill in graphics and layout. You agree that the work you submit is your own, was not intended for material gain in any way, and was submitted to the forum freely upon your own regard by yourself.
7. HTML forums may void any entry at any time if it deems that the nature of the submission does not fit in with its own high standards. If an entry is removed, the staff will clearly explain why it was removed so that members are aware of the reasons. All members should use their best judgement when posting graphical submissions, and should not intentionally post images that are demeaning/ vulgar/ pornographic/ racist or in any way would offend forum members.
8. Entries must be received before the stated deadline. Polls will be used to determine winners of each contest. Fraudulent voting in the polls, or repeated voting will not be allowed, and may result in the entry being removed from the contest.
9. Rules that may guide the contest may be added at the discretion of the forum staff during the contest. Any new rules that are added, will be fully explained.
10. Have fun, and lets see some the great things that your capeable of!
