View Full Version : Looking for webhost, do you like/hate yours?
I'm currently in search for a webhost with a reasonable price (who isn't, right?). I've already searched a lot of webhosting companies, search engines that give you the sites who meet your needs, and sites that give out numerous webhosts. I've also searched randomly. I've got a webhost right now (ValveNetwork.com) and it's constantly down, sometimes for more than a week at a time. They're also getting strict as to what can be uploaded and what can't. The upload rate is NOT what they say it is, rather, MUCH slower. The good qualities? It's only $9.95 a month for "unlimited" everything, although you have to purchase an MYSQL database through the upgrade area.
My question is do you like/hate your webhost? If so, will you let me know what company it is and what the url is. My friend (who is opening a site with me) is planning on using LunarPages.com to host our site. He seems to like the space, bandwidth, options, and price range. I could use all the help I can get to help me decide on a good, reasonably priced webhost. Thanks!
Hi,
I am from http://www.thehotweb.net/webhosting and we have been in business for over 2 years. If you e-mail us after your order I can give you $9.95 for the standard package. In your e-mail say the domain and that you are from HTMLforums. A few other hosts I had good experiance with:
http://www.hostway.com
http://hostmysite.com/
http://www.inetu.com/
http://www.experthost.com
http://www.burlee.com/
One thing you have to watch out for is when a host claims "unlimited". Nothing in this indistry is truly unlimited so be sure to check up on it.
Good Luck,
Paul
Thanks, that info you gave me was a big help.

Hi Cyn!
I have to say that I have had my share of bad hosts in the past. :) We started a hosting company with the hopes of being able to close the major gap of what we were lacking in the previous hosts. I think we have done that.
We have been with 4 to date, all of them were lacking in the communication department.
We are totally happy to provide new and existing clients with outstanding service and uptime. Please take a look at our plans if you get a chance. :) Client support is always our goal. www.gnshosting.com

I host with www.hostroute.com and have to say that they are excellent. I have no affiliation with them and recommend them only out of fact that my experience has been a good one. Rest assurred I have tested their support on a number of occasions and they have always responded within an hour (sometimes within 10 to 15 minutes!).

I have a site hosted at http://www.webworkzcentral.com .
I'm satisfied with their hosting plans/prices and great support. Hey, I'm even considering hosting a second site with them.
Admittedly I am very new to having my own domain - this is my first and it's only a couple months old, but I went with 5GB Hosting (http://www.5gbhosting.com) and so far they seem great. I've only been down once in all that time and only for about an hour. I have 1GB of space for only $35 U.S. which seems reasonable (compared to prices in Australia) so I think they're okay.
