E-mail signature

is it legal to attachment a signature on my e-mail options which advertise my web site? for example, if I am using Yahoo mail, can I do that to promote my site? (on my signature)

why shouldn't it be?

I can see how it might be annoying to have a banner under your email (i get a little irritated by some of the banners here in the forums), but I can't see how it could be illegal.

i think that if it is only a text link, then no one should really care.
