Marker,

Sheesh! Where did you find this one? Hmmm... Given that the Windows logo is visible, I'd say, if nothing else, they're running it pretty close to the wind. It all depends on whether or not they've got written permission from Microsoft, I guess.

Mind you, it's not a site I'd want to visit very often. The navigation is a bit iffy.

<shrug> But don't quote me on it. *g* I'm not well-known for my ability to navigate a Windows machine.

Looks very nice, I like the idea. I would add the following to the footer of each page to cover yourself:

*This site is not associated with Windows (c) or any other Microsoft products.

Pegasus, I didn't find it, I made it:)
I know what you mean about navigating windows but I'm thinking that may be all my potential customers know how to do.

Jason, I thank you for the disclaimer idea. I am going to incorporate it soon. Do you think a small (not quite invisible) link on each page to a disclaimer would suffice?

thanks for looking

<blush> Oh, dear...

Marker, I'm sorry. I must have sounded terribly rude. *lol* Gees, I spent a lot of time tasting my feet, don't I?

Okay, as far as the site itself goes, it's neat. Everything's clean and easy to read. I don't have a problem with that. I did, however, try to access some of the rest of the site and the navigation didn't quite want to work for me. I wasn't sure if that was because it was unfinished or because I'm using a Mac.

The one thing that I did notice is that when click on the start button and then miscalculate and slip off the menu, I lose the menu. It drops to a new space at the bottom of the page. I happened to see the scrollbar move and eventually thought to look down there.

<sigh> Mind you, I have problems with the "text boxes" here, too, so that's not saying a whole lot. *g*

Once I get Windows reinstalled, I'll have another look. It might be just a Mac thing.

hmmmm I have noticed that there is extra space at the bottom of the page and it goes away after the start menu has been used. I havn't seen the start button go to the bottom of that extra space (maybe a mac thing)lol. I have tried to get rid of the extra space at athe bottom but nothing has worked yet.
I am redesigning the site now any way. My wife asked several people at work to check it out and most of them found it confusing to have 2 start buttons. Now you kow what I'll be doing this weekend.

Yes, I retired that site but you can still view it at
http://www.mycomputerdoctor.com/xpversion/index2.htm
As for the splash page, I am not expecting alot of traffic from search engines. Most of the traffic will come from local radio, paper, & flyer ads.

what is the point of this post? Why are you dragging an old thread up for no reason at all?

ummmm kevin in this forum (legal issues) there really arent any "old" threads, cuz they are all basically old. i was just making a comment, is that not allowed?

kevin

ummm....actually.... no. This is not a chat room, don't make comments that add nothing to a thread, especially an old one. Resist the impulse to post every little thought that enters your head.

Thanks
