CGI newbie - help me please

Im pretty new to perl/cgi and having a little trouble, I have designed a template for the main pages of my site as maincat.tpl, this works fine, however I want to call certain parts of the script into tables on this page ie. currently the main category list (its an auction site) displays full width across the middle of the page, i want to call this list into a small table to the left of the screen and put my own text etc. to the right of it, how is this done. Basically I need to be able to control where parts of the script are displayed on my page. Im sure theres a simple explanation to all this.

there is no general answer to your question. How to display certain data in certain sections of a page with HTML code is specific to your script. If you know HTML code and how to open files using PERL, with some experimentation you should be able to get the results you want.
