i am going to use PHP Nuke on my site. But i am having trouble customizing it.
I would like to add links down the left side, like the module block that is there. But i want to display links to my own custom things, which i am having problems with.
I understand it might work like this:
If i create a block, i can put in my own sections (like downloads is in the modules block). But how do i do this?
When i create a block it tells me to add/choose:
Title (thats easy enough)
but it also says:
RSS/RDF file URL
Filename
Content
I do not really know what these mean.
What i want to achieve is like a table (or tables, i.e. blocks) of links down the left side to navigate through my site.
Could anyone help please.

Leave the RSS RDF slot blank and just type your HTML for the links in the Content area.

ok i have dont that and it sort of worked, well it did but its not what i'm looking for. This is because the list of links will go to a page, and i want it to go to a (module?) or block in PHP Nuke.
The only way i can discribe it is if i show you a site.

http://www.champman.tv
That has different sections (blocks?) like special features, tactics, players database etc. And then links to different parts under it, e.g. tactics index. But these pages are in PHP Nuke and not an html page if you know what i mean.
How can i do this or a similar thing to this?
Thanx for your help :)

oh, for that you have to create new topics (i think that is what they are called) and then you link to those like: ?topic=blah or something like that.

I quit using phpNuke a long time ago.

can anyone give a little more detail to that please.
i tried creating a topic called testing, posting a story in topic testing and used this url to link:
my domain.com/folder/?topic=testing
but it just seemed to go to the index.php page.
a little more in depth help would be greatly apreiciated.

Okay, here is what you do.
On the main navigation there is a link that displays all the Topics. Click on it.

If you do not see it its:
http://YOUR SITE/modules.php?name=Topics

Find the topic you just created, right click on it and choose Copy Shortcut. Now you have the URL to that topic's page so you can make a link for it.

Disregard everything I said.

I just installed phpNuke 5.5 and this is what I found:
Administration Area>Content Manager>Add a new Page
You have to scroll to get to it.

your previous post about the topics seems to work, i tried your last post and it didnt work.
So is the topics one 'safe' to use? (i.e. no 404 or other errors)?

Here are my step by step instructions and either will work, but I think you will find the second way much more convient.

Topics:
1) Create a topic
2) Click on the Topic link or go to modules.php?name=Topics
3) Right click on your topic, then paste the address where you want to use it.

Content/A new page:
1) Create a New Page (Content Manager Area)
2) Click on the Content link or go to modules.php?name=Content
3) Right click on your New Page, then past the address where you want to use it.

I find the second method much more easier to work with not to mention you have much more power.

The Content Manager is inside the Administration area. I believe its the 4th column very top...
