Please help, I'm getting quite confused...

I've never really had much experience with audio on the web and now i need to try and achieve two seperate things and quickly.

1. I'd like to have background sound on my homepage where users can decide which track to listen to or can turn it off something like on the http://www.kobayashi-records.com/ site. I know in this example it uses flash, is there an easy way to do this without having to create a flash file from scratch?? e.g a flash kit you can easily modify? Are there other ways to achieve this without using flash?

2. I also need to stream seperate audio files from within my site. What programs do i need to create an rm file? I will be taking the music from minidisc and i'm not sure what initial format it will be in.

All help appreciated.

You can use midi or wave

You can use Real Producer basic (free from www.realnetworks.com ) or Media Cleaner plus other
programs - not sure for any free.

connect the minidisc to your soundcard and select it in RP
as your source, select profile and it's ready.

Or you can first acquire the audio and save it as wav and then edit (in case you need samples or better quality etc..)
- you'll need some audio editing software.
