Has anyone out there ever tried to sell a program on the web?

I just wrote a shopping cart and would like to know the best way to get people to check it out.

My cart is at
http://beadoroma.com/if.html
under beaded exotics link only

If you have no money for paid advertising then go to the script archives and add your script, if its a perl script www.perlarchives.com would be an example of a script archive. It will be a tuff sell though because there are many full featured shopping cart scripts that are available for free.

Hi microwebber

We at D & D Wilden software are selling our international
softwares, business solutions and flash orders on the
internet.
We find the money transfer, bank to bank, to be the best
solution for us as the majority of our customers won't use
credit-cards on the internet, but it all depends on what
kind of customers your product is refering to. There is
also resellers that can help you sell your product, but
they useally take about 25-30% of every product soled.
For beginners this is sometimes a good way to go as you
market your name and product in various places.
If you choose to use resellers make sure to get a written
contract/agreement between you and the reseller, as
security for you and your product is nr.1 before handing
over any work.

Before investing in any shopping cart, credit-card payment,
make sure to check out how big a market you will think you
will gain with your new product.
Also check how many hits you get on your website every day,
to see if your website needs more promotion, like search
engines, banners, traffic trading and so on.

Advertising before releasing your software is a good way
to find out. Annoucments where you can post it is also a
good way to get started.
And of course, the bigger the brand, the more easier it will
be to sell.

Now that you already have got a shopping cart, advertising
and news announcements is the way to go, and maybe finding
a couple of resellers.

Hope this will help you.
Good luck with your products.
