I must be missing the point here. Why convert an avi to exe? You can just embed the avi or call the default player to play it. An exe needs the users permission to run.
Perhaps you could more fully explain your problem.

First thank you for answering me!!!
This is my problem: I have to make CD prezentation. I have to include avi video in the first screen. I made it, but it only works at my computer. When i take it to other computer it reports codec missing. So i decide to make the movie using standard codec and i made it. But now it does not work on NT systems. In my opinion I can have two solutions:
Find apropriate codec and install it on users computer before avi starts playing or make exe file, which does not
need any codec...
How to find out which are standard codecs and how to get them downloaded?
Intel indeo is standard codec for win98, but now there are only indeo video codecs. any idea of which one is best for
cd prezentatino.
I am not shure if this is possible so i asked so general question. Presentation should be delievered to many people so avi must work.
Again thank you very much...

In order to reach the largest audience, you should use
MPEG1.
You can make an autoplay CD and detect the users default
player and then start the a page with the embedded player (if you need ot display some more info).
Or just autorun the file.mpg - should start the default player.
(I just finished a CD for a client doing it that way and it works with "all" OS)

Hi emir
For converting AVI files into EXE files i can highly
recommend the RAD Video tools which is a freeware program.
It can compress a high amount of data into a small self
running software, without using any codec, which is ideal
if you want to share your AVI with other viewers.
It does however use the DirectDraw function, but this
is basicly installed on every computer.
I personally use it for my 3D animations.
It supports AVI,MOV,MP3,WAVE and probably more, i cant
remember.
The website is http://www.radgametools.com
Hope this helps.
Good luck
Darren
