hey guys,
I was wondering, if someone broadcasts the audio for a Pay-Per-View event on the net for free, just audio, live. Is that illegal? Could that person be in serious trouble?
Thanks!
hehehe....just wondering huh? Its illegal, would they be in trouble? Only if they got caught....

you know that disclaimer you see after every show ever made that says "no portion of this program may be reproduced, distributed, or broadcast in any way, by any means," etc.? yeah, that's the one. that means no.
even if you make ZERO money from such a broadcast, the musical artist (assuming this is about one) is entitled to a royalty. i believe this is called a mechanical royalty (i belong to ASCAP, am a musician, and aren't even up on this stuff! sheesh!), but whatever the case, yes, it is "expressly prohibited."
hope that helps...

Steal my thunder why don't you transmothra! I have absolutely nothing to add (except maybe write then and ask if you can, although it is a long shot that they will ever get back to you).
