Could someone help me find a program that will let me take video from my digital camcorder and onto my website or at least from the camcorder to my hard drive. I found one called Intro DV but its $200! also is there any other stuff that I will need to do this, (ex, any extra wires). Thanks!

Dear Sir,

I have been playing around with the same exact thing you are trying to do. There are a couple of ways you can download the video from your camcorder to your computer.

The most common (and fastest) way is through firewire. Are you familiar with firewire?

I did a little research, and found an article that should answer any questions you have (I hope):

If you still have questions / problems, just let me know!

Ok I just went through PC World Magazine, May 2000 Issue. They have an enitre section about video capture, editing, importing etc. If you have a friend or can get access to this issue you will get all the information you will need... how ever I will post he urls to the products to all the products they tested.
http://www.adstech.com (capture card & editing software) http://www.digitalorign.com (capture card & software) http://www.matrox.com/mga/ (cature card, supports analog & software) http://www.pinnaclesys.com (capture card & software) ~~~ SYSTEM STUDIO DV was rated best for beginners & epert users

hope this helps a bit... also a good capture card from my experience is also the ATI All in Wonder 16 or 32MB if your also looking for a video card with video capture, tv in/out, audio in/out capabilities!

FireWire (IEEE-1394, if I'm correct) is the best: it can transmit up to 400 megabits/s, compared to 12 megabits/s for USB. An interesting article (http://www.howstuffworks.com/question371.htm)
