I have several files on my site I would like to have downloadable. Most are in pdf form. If I provide links to a client with Acrobat, the file opens instead of simply downloading. I know the client can right click the link and choose "save target as".
That's too difficult. There must be a better way?

Mike,

You can always place the .pdf in a zip file for them to download, so it won't execute.

I know a .zip or .rar file will work, but then the client must have Acrobat and Winzip. I was hoping there would be some sort of scripting that would force the download.

Perhaps you can consult Adobe tech support @

1. Adobe Support Exchange (http://www.epeople.com/e/d/ADOBE1)
2. techdocs@adobe.com
3. Adobe Forums (Windows) (http://www.adobe.com/cgi-bin/redirect/.ee6b2f2?http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx.fcgi)
Hope it helps
