Hi,

I am considering selling my site at some point in the future and was wondering how much roughly I would be able to get for it, and if anyone would be able to give me a valuation on it.

Here is the info:

Website URL: http://www.nyxre.com

Website Description: An online text based RPG, with 600+ members, 17 skills, 400+ items and 35+ locations, with large potential for development.

Average Visitors: Between 2500-3500 per month

Current Server Costs: $45 [£27] per month (4 Months left on that contract)

Current Income: [Donations to site: Average is about £50 [$81] per month, Ads: Unknown yet as I just changed to Project Wonderful ads from Google Adsense]

Thanks a lot.

Not to be harsh, but a site making £23 a month is not really worth anything to anyone and a community of 600 is pretty small... Acting on the recession multiple of 3-5x annual income you would be looking at about £3k, but honestly if it were me I'd be looking at the profit rather than the income which would value your site nearer £1,380 and even then something solely ad / donation driven is a large risk.

If there is a large potential for development (I assume you mean for extra cash here), then I would suggest you do it, or at least outline it. Bear in mind that if it involves hefty dev work then potential buyers are well aware of the costs involved for this - dev guys are not cheap! An investment of 3 weeks freelance developer time to add some necessary functions may cost £4.5k for example and at current profit levels that would take over 16 years to repay = a bad investment.

If you could get it to £200 a week you might find someone interested, but even then I wouldn't hold your breath and wouldn't expect more than £30-50k for it, likely nearer the £20k mark (5 years to even recover the investment and all). The economic climate is just poor for this sort of thing right now.

If you really want to know what it is worth approach some investors / relevant companies about it...
