What is the best overall banner exchange? I'm talking an overall package ie. best clickthru rate, ability to earn impressions, ability to target audience etc...

I have tried advertwizard.com and earned over 10,000 impressions, but I only got 15 clickthrus. Apart from that, it was the best banner exchange service I have tried.

Theres no really good banner exchanges. I have found all of them to be very poor. Unless it is 100% targeted to only 1 subject. It wont even help a little.

The following reasons I think they are bad are:

- The reason most banner exchanges are started is because they needed advertisment for thereselves. The are relying on people to signup and put the code on there site to make them money with there ads. (in some cases this means the site isn't getting enof traffic to make money from there ads.)

- Most banner exchanges require multible impressions before you get impressions. This goes back to earlier thing I said about there banner being on the exchange.

- Some Banner exchanges lie about there members. Most banner exchange members see that it isn't working and take the code from there site. While the banner exchange owner counts it as an active member.

- Banner exchanges seem to be filled with "GET RICH QUICK ADS", or other banner exchange ads. Even if there targeted banner exchanges.

Those are the reasons banner exchanges doesn't work most of the time.

Banner exchanges only work for the owners of it most of the time.

Another thing is that traditional banners are out of date. Internet users are just ignoring them.

Maybe so but... if you find the right banner exchange it can "warp speed" the success of your site. For example, I found a banner exchange for auto sites that works on clicks, not impressions. So, if I show the banner exchange on my site and get 5 clicks per day, my banner gets shown an unlimited amount of times until my banner gets clicked 5 times... starting out, this was a great help. Ideally, I wouldn't show any unpaid banners on my site, but since i'm new and getting only about 150 to 200 unique hits a day, I am not in a position to do this.

Also, this gets back to the effective banner arguement, people may ignore the banner, but thats only because it doesnt interest them (for example: why would i click a banner for soft toys or make-up etc...). Banners I show (468x60) at the top of my site get a clickthru rate of 5%+ because the audience is interested in the banners (they are about cars on a car site).

Banner exchanges with clicks are ok.

A big problem with banner exchanges is anyone can join. If owners would filter content, theyd work better.

Also, popups are less effective then banners. They get high traffic, but many visitors USE the site... The best ads are text followed by banner (of REASONABLE size)

95% of the time banner exchanges are ineffective. So I dont even bother with them.

Hello.

You seem to be experienced users of banner exchanges. If you have time, I would like to read your feedback on a newly launched link-exchange site; http://www.link-exchanges.com.

Thanks.

A better one, this one gives you a 2:1 ratio, with hundreds of members and free impressions, very high clickthru as free members banners are on top of home pages and very reliable - the banner sizes are as they say, no ads from the banner site attached to make them larger etc.
