Microsoft Table

On Microsoft's Homepage (http://www.microsoft.com) they have highlighting tables on the right side of their news and updates. I took a look at the coding and was wondering what I need to operate the code on my site?
It is the table named 'Today's News'.

looks like they are creating little dhtml windows...

Okay, that was DHTML, so I'm sorry about posting it here, but my next question deals with Javascript.
Okay, how should I go about opening this dhtml window with a hyper-link?

well, I took a good look at that very script last night and I didn't see how he had it opening with a hyperlink... however it shouldn't be too hard of your familiar with the construction. If its your first, fifth, or twelfth time fooling with these kinds of things.... you could be in for a long haul. Its definately complicated in there.

Also, I don't think that he really meant it to replace pop-up windows.... since the content is included in the body.
