I have decided to start archiving my favorite, most useful posts. I want to make a list, linking to the URLs on my own little website. But I am asking in advance .. am I allowed to use the little HTMLForums picture, a lightbulb, to denote what forum the user is about to click on and go to?

Is this acceptable? Do I violate any Terms of Service? If you say so, the picture will be removed from my website and deleted from the server ASAP. Do I need to put a little disclaimer at the bottom of my page saying I'm not affiliated with HTMLForums??? I really don't know so I'm asking now, before I actually link to this site from my homepage.

http://www.htmlforums.com/images/on.gif Used to denote online users, I thought this one would be both cute and a convenient size, since I like icon-sized-pics on my currently themed website.

While Ian and Jason will sentance you to what they may, Id suggest at least cleaning up Edison before they see it. Noone would want a pixilated version of their icon on a page. If your going to put it on a black back... set it up that way, and remove unwanted white pixels from the edges. Heck.... look at the top of the forums... its already surrounded by black!

I agree it looked hideous and knew it right away. I intended to fix it up, but my priority was to ask permission first. Consider it a draft page.

My quick-fix is to place a 32 by 32 pixel white bgcolor table around them. If I believe that doesn't do it justice, I would re-edit the image to look pretty on a black background.

It now looks less ugly :D

Hi postit,

Since the icon is more than a simple graphics used for new posts (it is also the logo for the site), I need to ask you to place a note on the page along with the graphic. Please use the following on the bottom of the page:

The mascot Edison is © Big Resources, Inc and used with permission.

Please also include a copy of the graphic immediately preceding the statement. Thanks.

I reread this a month later, and realized I never said thank you.
Thank you!

Also, I stupidly misinterpreted PRECEDING. I have the icon AFTER the quote. After seeing that way for a month, I like it that way. Do you still prefer I change it?

I like how the page looks, one of my better ones. Even if they're all really-easy-newbie-simple-looking:(...
