Traffic!

Now my site is up and running. I need traffic, I submitted site to search engines still not showing up there. I joined I love clicks and click thru, but don't want to surf for traffic all the time. I have a trade links page, a directory and classifieds. I also have some enhancements on my site, news, games, poll, you can get a free FreeFinders email account, and a free web site. I put my url anywhere I can find a spot http://netjunk.com/users/freefinders/freefind.htm Still only avg 40-70 hits a day, Site got up April 20th. What else can I try?

Try contacting other sites that have a similar audience as your site does, or a site that has an audience that you think yould be interestedin your site.

Offer a link trade with them. For a link trade to be effective, it needs to be in a very visible spot, like on the main page, and not too far down the screen. After you get a few simple trades going, try some more advamced methods of barter, check out our Networking Traffic article for some ideas:

I see alot of people using Link Exchange, I never had much luck with them, tooooo many people cheat on there sites with them and you end up losing banner impressions to them that way. The best banner exchange program I have found so far is http://www.thespacezone.com Good exchange ratio (1:1), and they actually patroll there members sites to keep everything fair. (Better click through ratio as well because of that)

Just a suggestion :) Also, if you do a search in google (http://www.google.com) for Banner Exchange, you will find alot of them to try. ;) make sure you find one that fits your sites content.

The number one thing that increased my traffic without spending any real money is a webcam. You should not have programs like Gator, Bonzi Buddy, or the AllAdvantage type of paid to surf in your computer to have a webcam running much, and if you have GOHIP, you should also give it the boot as it is taking up major CPU time.
Aim your camera at neat photos when you are not on it yourself.
Click-Thru, and stuff like that, will not bring you the traffic you want because it takes traffic to get traffic, and many click-thru sites are just full of banners and the majority couldn't care less about returning the favour of visiting you.
