I have my meta tags in place. Not sure about if I am using the right keywords. I need to know if my site looks okay or if I forgot anything. Let me know thanks.

Hi Seterra,

Please post your URL on each thread you start, so we can easily reference it: http://netjunk.com/users/freefinders/freefind.htm

You might also want to consider registering your name at the board, so someone else doesn't run amuck with it. Our network does reach 70,000 visitors daily, and most of our sites provide access to our forums http://talkboard.123webmaster.com/ubbhtml/biggrin.gif

That being said, I took a look at your meta tags. Lets go through them one by one.

Ok, the search engines will know that it's a web page, good http://talkboard.123webmaster.com/ubbhtml/smile.gif

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type"
content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">

Description Tag -

<meta http-equiv="Description"
content="This site is dedicated to locating and posting freebies found on the Internet. Over 50 Categories of free stuff,updated daily!">

You might find success with some redundance in your description tag, since many search engines use weighted words in their rankings. There are whole formulas based on this.

Try:
===
This free site is dedicated to locating and posting free freebies found on the Internet. Over 50 free Categories of free stuff, updated daily!
===
This might seem silly, and read a little bit weird, but the higher placement will be worth it, and only search engine visitors will be exposed to it anyway.

Keywords Tag

<meta http-equiv="keywords"
content="free, isp, links, email, banners, money, website, downloads, web space, freebies,buttons, graphics,earn cash,tools,jokes,software,fonts,gifts,services,cards,baby,family,parents,new,updated daily, free stuff, freestuff, webrings">

Make sure you have spaces after each comma, and try using "free" in front of your nouns.

Microsoft Tag

<meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage Express 2.0">

You're just telling everyone that you made your page with front page express http://talkboard.123webmaster.com/ubbhtml/biggrin.gif

Title Tag -

<title>FreeFinders-Let us find free stuff for you!</title>

This could be a bit longer. Try:

Free stuff ar freefinders - let us find free stuff and free goodies for you!

Hey, you found our favico tutorial! http://talkboard.123webmaster.com/ubbhtml/biggrin.gif

Hope all this helps, please forgive the spelling mistakes I'm sure I made! Cheers!

Hi,
Just at a glance from what jason has wrote, I would say you are short in your Keyword department if you want to do well. I'm just on my way out, but if you can wait, I will look at them and post something when I return.
Sorry.

hi again,
this is how I would do your keywords.

<meta http-equiv="keywords" content="freestuff, free, stuff, freebies, email, home page, website, promotion, directory, classifieds, links, newsletters, baby, backgrounds, banners, buttons, book, magazines, cards, chats, clubs, contests, coupons, fonts, games, gifts, graphics, health, beauty, hobbies, crafts, home, garden, hunting, fishing, internet storage, ISPs, DSL, Java Scripts, jokes, pranks, cash, music, recipes, romance, samples, screen savers, search, services, short url, software, sounds, sports, radio, space, webmaster, tools, webrings, personal, pets, kids">

that should get your site cooking http://talkboard.123webmaster.com/ubbhtml/smile.gif
good luck - let us know when you start getting hits. http://talkboard.123webmaster.com/ubbhtml/smile.gif
