Hi, good morning:

Does anyone know of a free, simple program I can put on my page that will allow me to chat one on one with customers? I know there was one once, and I'm not finding it.

I'm downloading something from TuCows, but while it says it's freeware, when I got the help page, it says 30 days free...

TIA!

Can I configure that so it's just me and my customer(s)? I don't want a lot of other people there, only the people who are on my page.

Actually, I'm asking the question wrong. I don't want a "program" -- what I want is a block of source code. I did this years ago. and I don't want a lot of strangers in there, only one customer at a time (or two).

That demo shows a lot of other people (IRC?). My page is a business page; I only want my customer who has clicked into my page.

I really don't know - usually with the chat software you can set up channels or authentications where the user has to be logged in to use it. The shoutboxes are usually the ones that are open for all. Looking at that demo it does appear to be more of a shoutbox.

I looked at a few other scripts and most are able to be used public or private, for example:

Thank you for following up on this. I signed up for this:

http://www.freechatcode.com/

and placed the source code, but am waiting for them to send me an email to verify.

A long time ago, I found a page where you just did a simple block of source code and it worked fine.

Anyway, the link above provided a temporary solution, and it's working now (though when I wrote them at their email link, the Mailer Daemon sent it back). It has Google ads, but it does work.

I would really suggest www.chatango.com because it gives you admin features aswell!
