I wasnt sure where to post this, but here it goes. My hosting has a basic text editor built in. Recently when I try to use the text editor, I get what appears to be an error. I have included a screenshot of what is happening to make it easy to understand. Normally, there would just be a white box, with text. No special editing features or anything. Basically, everything in the gray area, would not be there.
Anyone know how to fix this? I emailed my hosting provider but it doesnt appear to be a problem on their part as they are not seeing the same problem.

Any help is grately appreciated!
Thanks

Hi there legrand18,
if a built in text editor does not work you could try contacting...
soEditor Lite 2.5 (http://www.siteobjects.com/)
...which I saw at the bottom of your screenshot. :agree:
If all else fails why not try Notepad, which is more than likely already on your pc?
Notepad has been my flawless companion for years. :agree:

Thanks for the response! I'll contact them and see if they know anything. The reason I am trying to get this fixed, is because it makes things alot easier when I need to edit an HTML or PHP file. I saves me from having to download the file from my website, opening it in a program such as notepad, editing it, then reuploading it. Thanks again. I'll be sure to post the answer for future reference if I find out the problem.

I think this is because your text editor offers some kind of design view and from as far as I know many online text editors that offer design view have problems displaying flash code correctly. Wordpress' built in text editor was like that and probably still is. So the solution would be not to use flash code or things like that when using that text editor.

Still no response from the makers of soLite... My host said that they quit using that editor over a year ago and just switched over to a basic text editor. Everything is apparently correct on their part, so I cant understand why this would even show up.
tobemenow, the basic text editor that was originally there didnt have any design view or anything. It was just editable text in a box with the ability save just like the buttons at the bottom of the image above. None of that other crap was there. So would the flash code thing still have an effect? If so, what would be using flash? I dont think anything is using flash whenever im working in the control panel.
Thanks for your help

I just noticed that whenever I try to view a PHP file, the text editor works correctly. Whenever I try to view HTML files, it does not and I get the error shown in the above image.
Here is a screenshot of what the text editor is suppose to look like:

Direct Link to image if image does not display:
