Hey all,

I'm having a little problem with my DIV, in that I can see everything locally, but I've just uploaded the page and CSS to my host and for some reason, I'm missing my footer (div id="footer"). I can't see why it should be any different "server-ly" than it is locally.
Is this a simple means of z-index?
What do you think?

(CSS can be found externally linked in the page source)

Hey M-One

Check out your spelling of footer in the image file, its Footer not footer Caps!

Hope this solves it for you.

Hi there m-one,

our friend jollynolly has found the solution for you. :agree:

I see that you are using javascript rather than css for your rollover. :supereek:
As more users have javascript disabled than css, do you think that you have made the best choice. ;)

Aha! It works!

That'll explain why it was viewable locally and not on the server, obviously the server is set up to differentiate the cases, whereas Windows just disregards that.

Thank you, Jollynolly. You're a great help. :3

Hey Coothead, nice to see you again.

Infact, I looked around on google and here to see if there was a way to do this in CSS, oh wait, no, I was looking for something else.
Anyway, I just stuck to what I knew when it came to the rollovers since I let my image editing software slice the images and add the rollovers by itself.
Now if your question was "Should you trust image editing software to generate HTML for you?" then the answer is no. Haha
How would I achieve these rollovers in CSS?

Hi there m-one,

give me half an hour and I will knock one up for you. :agree:

And I will remove that awful table too. ;)

Like to help out when I can. I've made the same mistakes myself.

Now CSS is not my strong point, still trying to understand positioning at the mo:lol:

will be watching for the solution tho to aid my learning.

Hi there m-one,

sorry that I did not have it done in the half hour, I unexpectedly had to nip out for a while. ;)

I would suggest that you change all your files with those in the attachment, as I have made a few modifications. :agree:

Ah don't worry Coothead, I wasn't timing you, honest. :P

Thanks for the modifications! You are great. :3

I have no idea how you did it though, I can't seem to decipher the code, it's very confusing.. such as none of the "buttons2" images having a width apart from the commissions one... and I only thought the '<a>' tag was for href... so now.. your coding has left me completely bedazzled..

I'm lost..

however, when I view it, the first three hovered buttons are fine, but the last two are (inner perfectionist kicking in) one pixel to the left. Since I can't work out how these hovered images are placed, I can't shift them just one pixel to the right.

Thank you again for the help though, I really appreciate it.

Hi there m-one,
but the last two are (inner perfectionist kicking in) one pixel to the left.
Sorry, but I did not notice that. :o :o :o

You and jollynolly, obviously, have perfect eyesight. :agree:

I have made the necessary amendments.

Note:-
In IE7 your javascript buttons are shifted to the right by about 25px. :supereek:
My css version, though, works OK. :agree:

I've got it!!
I've found out how you did it, haha... sorta. Well, that makes me a little less confused than earlier.

You and jollynolly, obviously, have perfect eyesight.

That and perfect pitch.. it's a curse I tell you, a curse!

In IE7 your javascript buttons are shifted to the right by about 25px.

That must be one of the most common problems I have, and the main reason why I usually give up long before I get this far. Your tremendous help is spurring me on to carry on. I will get this done!

Hi there m-one,
That and perfect pitch..
Well, as you will probably have guessed this bald headed old fart is chronically tone deaf. :supereek:
And that is when I am having one of my good days. :D
