Okay mods............move this where you want:D:D:D No idea where to post it.

I seem to be having trouble with getting a .doc file to open. I'm wondering how to get it to open without the network identification form popping up. I really have no idea how to stop that:( (since I'm really not good at anything but standard HTML and graphics:D:D:D)

.doc files do not open in a browser window, besides that I'm unclear as to what the network indentification form is.

if you don't have word on your computer you can't open it. is the file saved on a network drive?

Yes I have word. The file will open.

The dialog box I'm referring to is the one in which it asks you for your username and password.

Oh, and it's online, so I'm not accessing it on my HD.

if it is online adn you click on it it should down load or open up. why would it ask for a uesrname or password? unless the file is passwrod protected.

I didn't get any username or password screen. it just opened up with no probs. must be on your coputer that it is asking for a password and username. are you connected to a network?
