Simple --- yes, but sometimes the best way to be informative, is with pure simplicity.

One of the most common problems I find on basically well-designed sites is too much dead space. In the case of your site, moving your navigation buttons up to the top of the page by the logo can clear up the dead space. I also think a white background with the Verdana font would look nicer than the gray background with your serif (Times New Roman?) font.
