My website (http:\\mmen.clanpages.com) takes way too long to load up. I am using flash 5 for the intro and dreamweaver 3 for the actual site. What can I do to make the delay shorter and make the flash intro more smooth. Thank you.

Hi,
I've not checked your site (for fear of slowing my computer down!), but I wuld imagine that it takes to long to load purely becasue of the size of the flash intro.
The reason it doesn't run smoothly is because it loads little bits of the flash intro and plays them as oppose to loading the whole thing and playing it smoothly.
The answer to your problems, other than making a smaller flash intro is to create a preloader. This will run until the flash intro has loaded and then play the intro smoothly for you.
Take a look at the tutorial on my site at:
http://www.101tutorials.com/progtutorials/default.asp
Click the Macromedia Flash and follow the Simple Preloader tutorial.
Hope this helps! Let me know
Jon
P.S. If you fancy writing a small tutorial for the site I'd be very happy...lol

I´m not so sure about your guess.
I´ve seen some flash-animations a lot more extensive,
which were running faster and smoother.
My guess is that this animation could be optimized
by using images with a smaller resolution and a lessened
number of images.

Perhaps you could cut down your Flash intro, or give an option to skip it.

You defiantley need a 'skip intro' button .. what if your user doesnt have flash?!
The rest of the site loads quickly (56K) .. you might want to give it a title! looks a bit unproffesional.
