I have done all the free submit programs and get 700-1200 visitors a day.

My target this year is 10,000 visitors a day at minimal cost.

I submitted 3 pages to Inktomi costing £66.

After 2 months I have had only about 1 or two hits every 24hours.

I will try and update this posts when I can. If anyone has submitted to BT Looksmart let me know how they have got on

Although looksmart no longer accepts free submissions, there are still ways of getting in for free.

The first possible solution would to be to try to become the editor in the category that you want at zeal.com:

http://zeal.com/users/build_directory.jhtml

Or you can try to get in with the inktomi engine (which looksmart still uses to supplement its results). This means if you can get added to Lycos, hotbot, or excite, you should appear on looksmart also (although you won't be in looksmart's directory).

Lastly, to get a decent listing in their directory, you can cough up the dough, although I can't say if it will be worth it for you or not:

http://listings.looksmart.com/?synd=none&chan=lshomeft

However, since it is a permanent listing, and not a pay per click, you should theoretically make back what you paid over time, since you will be there forever.

That’s good advice Jason.

My website www.futuremovies.co.uk is in Zeal and included in Looksmart.com BUT NOT Looksmart.co.uk which is far more relevant and this actually costs more (£200 = $300) because here in UK we get ripped off everything from buying Cars to Playstation 2!

On the Inktomi front it has been very er ****e with 4 hits average every 24hours - I don’t recommend it yet as I can track the hits I get. I was hoping I could raise the money from profits made on Inktomi to pay for Looksmart.co.uk but I aint close yet.
