Image rotator

ok i am a huge novice started maybe a week ago xP. i want to make a sort of "slide show" to make the imgs rotate and i look at all tehse codes some people put up, and they dont say were to put the imgs -.- may someonen help me please :)

ok, i also need a image rotater for a webisite.(not even close to finishing) but i dont know ANY codes for it. can you tell me a code and say were to change time speed and imgs b/c not many ppl are clear about that. also do i need .gif?
