Google Question

Yes I have searched and came up with nothing... maybe I didn't search the right words but here goes the question:

I told someone that they needed to update what their adsense ads were putting out... funny thing is... I haven't a clue how to do this myself and I'm having the same problem with only having a certain few ads show up... how do I change the "meta tags" for google adsense? I know it can be done... I've seen it done...

You can't help what shows up in your adsense ads unless you change the content of your site.

There's plenty of ways to do that, but google penalizes sites that do that. So you're page will be ranked even lower.

so how do I change the content in the forums without google getting all pissy because I'm making their ads match what my topic is?

And in the forums........ I'll deal with the penalties... since the forums is not the main page... or do they penalize the whole site?

(I don't think anyone who goes to an automotive site wants to see links on google for vb or dot tk or website graphics....... I'm pretty sure they want to see ads for performance parts or muscle cars or racing or stuff like that.)

And one more question... what clicks count? If someone clicks on two banners in the same day do I get 1 click or 2? I'm just wondering since I've only gotten credit for 3 clicks and I know that people have clicked because I see the clicks show up on the google adsense report... but no money next to them.

You can't. Forums are a problem because of the variety of content.

If you don't want the ads to be based on your content, use some kind of general ad like fastclick.

And they would penalize the whole site.

Now I know of one perticular forum only site that uses adsense and they're rather high on the list... first page... #3 for the perticular search... and their adsense banners are for nothing but the forum name... I'm just trying to figure out how to get that... I want to have my visitors see links for engines, pistons, car parts, etc... not internet ads.

Here's a tip:
Try to make the first words on the page keywords, but make them visible also.

For example, at the very top of your page put
"cars, pistons, engines" etc.

Do you have a link to the site you're talking about?

OK, so maybe at the top of your page add some keywords, but make sure they're visible. You can make the text small but still legible.

I didn't notice any google ads on your site, can you please add them and post back here. Normally if google ads show content not similar to your site you have a huge problem, it means your site isn't correctly optimized. I wouldn't throw out the idea of optimizing your forums as search engines can be your highest source of traffic for this type of site.

The first thing you want to do is add some keywords to your title tag. Currently you have "Piston Koncepts", this doesn't mean a thing to a search engine. Try something like "Piston Koncepts : High Performance Car Engine Parts". That right there will probably get better ads to display but you can always do a lot more optimizing. You can search these forums and google for optimizing tips or you can start a new thread in the Search Engine Tactics board. Remember that Google needs to spider your pages before new ads show up, this could take a few days.
