cj.com

Does anyone else use cj.com as an affiliate? If so, are you getting one merchant after another dropping them due to their policy changes this year? I went through this nightmare with them last year but stuck it out - now I've had it. I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I'm on my fourth day getting all their links and banners off and it's getting extremely annoying. I had just signed on with one site, took two days to put their links up and not 24 hours later I get an e-mail they pulled from cj.com due to "policy changes". What is up with cj??? Anyone have a clue?

I gave up on cj.com ages ago.

The 2 that I use are focusin.com and clickxchange.com . They seem pretty good so far.

You were smart! I wish I would have. Sheeze! they've been a thorn in my side for a long time. I wanted to drop them last year and took all their links off my old site, went to cancel and then someone bought something and I wound up with a balance of $23.00. There it sat and I wanted that check. So I grabbed a few offers and tried promoting them to get my balance over $25 and do you think I could get anything?? Lol..I even got to the point I felt they were jilting me.

I never heard of focusin - will have to check that one out, thanks. I just joined clickxchange last week - how long have you been using them? So far they seem all right to me, too. Luck to both of us!

I've been using focusin.com for about 5 months and clickxchange.com for about 3 weeks (you have to be carefull which affiliate you choose on that site though).

Good luck to you

Well, if it's anything like clicktrade was (back in the day), then they might get a lot of merchants that wait until they get some good solid links from a large number of webmasters, and then yank away the program. It's a dirty way to get free traffic.

Is this what you were gettign at Oz?

I'll say, that is just horrible! I hope I didn't make a mistake signing on with them. I'm only trying three merchants right now and it's only been a few days. In truth, I'm beginning to wonder about a lot of these merchant/affiliate sites. They put a date down for a merchant that's almost a year away so you think you can safely put their banners etc. on your site and not worry for a while and a week later it's "We had to pull..." or the merchant pulls themselves out. Gets annoying - but worse than that, very time consuming.

That's exactly what I was getting at. Sites come up with affiliate deals that give you 5 cents per click then, before they have to pay, they pull the plug on their program and take the free traffic and run...

That really is rotton. I'm using one that is for a diabetic online store - payments via commissions on sales only - they have to pay clickxchange to have their site listed, don't they?

I dont really mess with Cj.com anymore but I still use some of there links. But just a few. I really have no use to join affiliate programs. Unless it is to help a friend out.

I hope I reach that point soon cuz I'm getting pretty tired of them all! Some are always e-mailing you telling you to push this or that - gets tiresome. Furthermore, I cannot help but wonder if any can truly be trusted 100%.

Thanks, Mike - I did drop cj.com and get this; when I went to cancel my account a message pops up and says "You are not allowed to delete this account"!! Believe that one??? Sheeze! So I fired off an e-mail and they said well, due to this, that and whatever, I had to click on this link they included. I did that and about 2 weeks later, recieved yet another e-mail that some merchants dropped so I went there to see if I could log in and sure enough, there sat my account, supposedly as active as it could be, even though I dropped all my merchants. E-mailed them again, got another stupid answer. Two more e-mails later I told them if my account wasn't cancelled and I got one more e-mail from them, doo-doo was going to hit the fan and I'd report them as SPAMMERS to boot. Haven't heard anything since.

Thanks for the links - I am affiliated with fineclicks already, but the other two I'm not familiar with. I copied the exact links for you and will check them out tomorrow. It's 20 to 3:00 AM here and I'm shot!

Luck to you - and me!

Jj

I have been an affiliate and on the merchant side of CJ for years and you do have to pick companies with big brand-names so you know they arent going to deactive as an advertiser...but overall I think CJ is great.

I use CJ, but anytime i can set up an affiliate directly with the site rather than through CJ i will. Its hard to get customized ads unless you use the API and pay a large fee
